A Sunset, Seattle Scramble is the season finale of The Amazing Race 35.
Story[]
Route Markers[]
The order of departure from Saint Patrick's Cathedral are as follows:
None of the teams' departure times were shown on-screen.Teams must fly to Seattle, Washington, United States. Upon arrival, teams must choose a marked car with a miniature souvenir Space Needle on the dashboard and were left to figure out that they had to drive there in order to find their next clue.
Teams would be harnessed and must each walk around the sloped rim of the Space Needle, 500 feet above the ground, to retrieve their next clue.
Teams must return to the entrance of the Space Needle and search for a man wearing a tie in Race colors, who would direct them to a marked path to Chihuly Garden and Glass, where they would find their next clue.
At Chihuly Garden and Glass, teams encountered the Scramble. Teams were told the locations of all three tasks, which were inspired by the Seattle art scene, that they could complete in any order. For each task completed, teams would receive a puzzle piece. When all three were received, they would be combined to form a clue that would reveal the location of their next clue. The locations of each task, which teams must drive themselves to, were as follows:
- Grunge at The Showbox;
- Grab at the Emerald City Trapeze Arts;
- Glass at the Seattle Glassblowing Studio
Teams must become roadies and, using a provided diagram as reference, set up a stage for a grunge band. These are the teams' selected the bands and have to perform at the stage:
- Greg & John: La Fonda
- Joel & Garrett: Smokey Brights
- Rob & Corey: The Black Tones
Teams must learn and perform a flying trapeze move known as a "knee catch". If both team members could successfully pull off the move, teams would receive a puzzle piece.
Teams must, following a demonstration, use glassblowing techniques in order to turn molten glass into an undamaged glass float at least 4 inches in diameter. Once the judge is satisfied with their work, he would give teams a puzzle piece.
Teams must assemble all their puzzle pieces, which would be in the shape of a model seaplane. Teams must then drive themselves to the address provided on the model seaplane, Kenmore Air Harbor, where they would find their next clue.
Teams must arrange kayaks with the Roadblock prompts and Detour choices from the previous 11 legs in chronological order on storage racks and place kayak paddles displaying each country on the associated rack. Once teams have placed all the kayaks and paddles in the correct order, they would receive their next clue. The correct answers are:
