Angel & Frankie

Angel Williams and Francis "Frankie" Vaaua are a team of Church Friends on The Amazing Race Australia 6.

At the start of the Race, Angel's dominant and competitive personality made them a source of annoyance for the other teams. As the Race went on, however, she mellowed down and their consistent and solid team work led them to be the biggest force of the season's first half, winning 7 out of the first 10 legs.

Unfortunately, as the season went on, they started to struggle with the extended length and stress of the Race. Their once flawless teamwork soon started to fall apart as they struggled with directions, narrowly avoided being eliminated twice, and fell into the middle of the pack where they never managed to truly recover from.

During Leg 13 in Belize, Angel left alone stranded at the airport in Cancún, Mexico due to flight overbooking, that left Frankie to race alone on the first half until they reunited in the overnight rest.

In the finale, they seemed to be making a successful comeback after taking the lead heading into the final Roadblock in spite of their navigational issues. However, after Frankie struggled, Heath managed to overtake him. While Frankie managed to finish ahead of a similarly-struggling Kelly, their time deficit was too big to overtake the eventual winners, and they finished the Race in 2nd place.

Angel and Frankie met attending church and formed a firm friendship focused on faith. While neither have travelled overseas together, they are confident they're going to nail any obstacle that stands in their way.

A former flight attendant, Angel will use her travel smarts to get them where they need to go, and Frankie has a cast iron stomach and will smash all the weird and wonderful food challenges. With their faith on their side, failure is not an option. Not in it solely for the money, they believe they were born for this.

What are you looking forward to the most on The Amazing Race Australia?
I'm honestly just looking forward to the adventure, the experience, and to be able to see more of the world. Travelling is my passion and COVID kind of ruined that for me for a while. So I’m so glad to be able to get out and explore more.

What's the best place both in Australia and in the world you have visited and why?
I'm going to be biased here and say the best place in Australia is Brisbane! It’s such a beautiful city. No matter where I go in the world, I always end up back in Brissie. I've been blessed and fortunate enough to see so much of the world. I've actually lost count of how many countries I’ve travelled to. I would probably pick Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Egypt then maybe Mexico.

What do you hope to accomplish on The Race?
Win The Race, but also prove why I want to be on The Race, as so many people are backing us and I really want to make them all proud. I want to show that Angel and I are a great team. But I hope to accomplish something that I lack and that’s to be a better communicator. I hope to come out of this being open, and able to communicate better than I have.

What is the biggest challenge or weakness you’ll need to overcome?
Fear of spiders and snakes, and potentially some eating challenges as I am sometimes a picky eater

Notes: 1: Angel & Frankie initially arrived 2nd, but did not walk through the marked tunnel to the Pit Stop as stated in their clue. They were required to backtrack and walk through the marked tunnel. Heath & Toni checked in during this time, dropping them to 3rd place. 2: Angel did not compete in the first half of the 12th leg after she was denied boarding the flight to Belize due to COVID-19 concerns. She was required to fly to Cancun, Mexico and then drive across the border to Belize. Frankie competed in the first half of the 13th leg by himself and was reunited with Angel at the overnight rest, and they completed the rest of the leg together.
