The order of departure from Puerto Madero as follows:
- Ashleigh & Jarrod (3:04 pm)
- Sally & Tyson (3:20 pm)
- Daniel & Ryan (3:31 pm)
Teams must fly to Los Angeles, United States. Upon arrival, they had to search the parking lot at Los Angeles International Airport for a marked car, which contained their next clue.
Teams must make their way to Hollywood Boulevard where they had to use a Polaroid camera to photograph themselves with three movie characters, who had been portrayed by Australian-born actors, on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Once completed, they must make their way to Ray's Photo Lab to approve their photographs. If the photos were right, teams received their next clue.
Teams must make their way to Pink's Hot Dogs where both team members must have to eat a traditional Pink's hot dog in order to receive their next clue.
Teams must fly to Melbourne, Victoria. Upon arrival, they had to travel to Moorabbin Airport for their next clue. During the flight, they were all given a free upgrade to business class. Along the way, teams were given a challenge to name the locations on the Virgin Australia route map.
Daniel & Ryan won two additional business class tickets to Los Angeles.
Teams must instruct to fly by helicopter to the Great Otway National Park. Once there, they make their way to the Otway Fly Treetop Walk across the Canopy Walk for their next clue located on a cantilever.
Teams must instruct to begin an "Air, Land & Sea" task by series of word puzzles.
- Teams must fly past the Twelve Apostles and had to search Port Campbell for a boat on land with the word (Loch) on it. When they found the word, they had to land on Great Ocean Road and must find a local fisherman at Port Campbell Jetty, who gave them a bottle for their next clue.
- The next task where they must have to find their second word (Ard) in a sandcastle on Port Campbell Beach.
- The final task where they must have to paddle out to a buoy in Port Campbell Bay and collect their third word (Gorge).
Teams must make their way to Loch Ard Gorge where they would get their next clue.
"Who's got an eye for detail?"
The assigned team member must have to find the nine items worn or held by the Pit Stop greeters from a vast array of items and place the items in the correct order that teams encountered them atop barrels in order to receive their final clue.

- With a total distance of 14,150 miles albeit three different continents, this leg is the longest distance in the Race overall.
- This was the last episode on the Seven Network incarnation of The Amazing Race Australia.

- This marks the first time teams in any version were allowed to fly in first-class.
- This leg's Roadblock was quite similar to the Roadblock from the eleventh leg of The Amazing Race 12.
