A city sprint requires teams to complete a series of tasks while racing in the city before returning back to the starting point, doubling as the leg's Pit Stop.

The first time a city sprint occurred on the penultimate episode of The Amazing Race 32. After they must take a marked, chartered jeepney to Lapu-Lapu Circle at Rizal Park, where they would meet host Phil Keoghan for a new twist. Once the teams arrived at the Rizal Park, Phil informs them that they performed a city sprint, meaning that there were no Detours or Roadblocks.
