Don't Try to Play the Moralist Now! is the penultimate episode of The Amazing Race 3.
Synopsis
The Race intensifies as the four remaining teams fight it out to avoid elimination.
During the Detour challenge in Ho Chi Minh City, teams find themselves struggling on a river during "the storm of the century," and when a team switches course, they are propelled to the back of the pack. In the Race to the next Pit Stop, two teams battle it out to get there first and avoid elimination, but in the end, crucial information about the final challenge, from an unlikely team, is all the help one of them will need to stay in the Race.[2]
Story
Route Markers
The order of departure from Mount Faber are as follows:
- Derek & Drew (10:22 pm)
- Ken & Gerard (10:33 pm)
- Flo & Zach (10:34 pm)
- Teri & Ian (10:45 pm)
Teams must fly to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Upon arrival, they must find the Bac Ho Statue in Rex Square to find their next clue.
Teams must make their way to the Mekong Delta and find the town of Cái Bè to search for their next clue.
Choice A: Easy Buy
Teams must choose a boat called a sampan and ride it into the floating market to look for the only vendor who sells water coconuts (called dừa nước in Vietnamese) and buy one at any price they can. After buying the coconut, teams must bring the coconut back to one of the vendors who would verify and give them their next clue.
Derek & Drew and Teri & Ian chose this task.
Choice B: Hard Sell
Teams must choose a shoulder basket and carry fruit into the land market area and sell enough fruit to make VND40,000₫ ($2.50). After raising enough money, teams must bring the money back to one of the vendors who would verify their earnings and give them their next clue.
Teams must return to Ho Chi Minh City and find the next route marker at the edge of the Saigon River.
"For a person that has strong legs and a strong back."
The team member assigned to perform this Roadblock must drive a cyclo and transport their teammate through a marked course down the streets of the city, then onto a ferry across the Saigon River. After reaching the end of the course, both teams members can drop off their cyclo and walk to the next Pit Stop at Café Thu Thiem.
The Roadblock performers per team are underlined:
For coming in first place, Teri & Ian won a seven-night European vacation on Royal Caribbean's Splendour of the Seas cruise ship.Leaderboard
