Funky Monkey is the fourth episode of The Amazing Race 21.

Route Markers[]

The order of departure from SMA Negeri 1 Bangil High School are as follows:

Only Abbie & Ryan and Trey & Lexi's departure times were shown on-screen. The other six teams' departure times are unknown.

Teams must fly to Dhaka, Bangladesh. Upon arrival, teams must make their way to Rubel Model Auto Mobiles, where they would find their next clue.

The Fast Forward instructions were given to teams after receiving their clue at Rubel Model Auto Mobiles. Teams must become rat catching assistants to a pest control agent. They must fill a bag with dead rats, collecting them from three different locations. Once they have collected all the rats and returned the bag to the pest control agent, they would win the Fast Forward. James & Abba won the Fast Forward.

"Who wants to fill in the gaps?"

The team member assigned to perform this Roadblock must repair one of the public transit buses used in Dhaka. First, they must use body putty to fill in a damaged section, then sand it to be ready for painting. Once approved by a supervisor, they must then carry three pairs of seats from the bus and deliver them to the refurbishing area to receive their next clue.

Teams must make their way to Kawran Bazaar Shootkir Market. Once there, teams must find a fish stall and search through a bag of hundreds of dried fish to find one marked in Race colors, which they could trade for their next clue.

Choice A: Pound the Metal
Teams must work with a local blacksmith to hand-pump the bellows of a smokey, charcoal fire, then use 10-pound sledgehammers to hammer and beat an iron rod into a sharp spiked tool called a chheny. Once their chheny is approved by the blacksmith, they would receive their next clue.

Natalie & Nadiya, Rob & Kelley, and Trey & Lexi chose this task.

Choice B: Pound the Cotton
Teams must make a cotton mattress using a traditional Bengali method. They must use bamboo rods to beat clumps of cotton into a fine, feather-like consistency. They must then stuff the mattress, and sew it together. Once their mattress is approved by the craftsman, they would receive their next clue.

Abbie & Ryan, Gary & Will, Jaymes & James, and Josh & Brent chose this task.

Teams must make their way to Keranigonj Kholamora Launch Ghat, where they must take a riverboat along the Buriganga River to Swarighat in Old Dhaka. Once there, they must make their way on foot or by auto rickshaw to Shyambazar Chan Mia Ghat to check in.
For coming in first place, James & Abba won a trip for two to Antigua, provided by Travelocity.
