Notes: 1: Jobelle & Rani initially arrived 11th, but were issued a 30 minute penalty for failing to complete the bombing challenge. Two teams checked in during this time, dropping them to 13th place. 2: Alex & Jack elected to withdraw from the show before the second leg citing mental health reasons for Alex. 3: Jude & Shannon initially arrived 11th but were forced to backtrack as they did not have their backpacks. Holly & Dolor checked in during this time, dropping them to 12th. 4: Dwes & Katherine returned to the race at Longreach Airport to replace Alex & Jack in Leg 3. 5: Malaan & Tina initially arrived 8th, but were issued a 10 minute penalty for breaking a puzzle piece during the Dinosaur jigsaw task. Three teams checked in during this time, dropping them to 11th place. 6: Dwes & Katherine initially arrived 9th, but were issued a 10 minute penalty for taking transportation in a public car. Holly & Dolor checked in during this time, dropping them to 10th place. 7: Shane & Deb were medically removed from the race during an overnight rest on Leg 5 due to Shane injuring his knee during the leg's first Roadblock. 8: Jordan & Violeta timed out on the second Roadblock and were given their next clue without completing the task. As they arrived last, they were not assessed a penalty. 9: Jobelle & Rani failed to obtain a bottle during the Treasure Hunt challenge on Green Island and elected to take a penalty. As they arrived last to the Pitstop, they were eliminated without the penalty being applied. 10: MJ & Chelsea entered the race on Leg 7 as a stowaway team. They were allowed to start racing 5 minutes after the teams left the airport. 11: Sefa & Jessica failed to complete the Goldfish Bowl challenge at Darwin Hidden Valley Raceway due to the challenge site closing. They were directed to proceed to the Pitstop, where they were eliminated without the penalty being applied. 12: Dwes & Katherine initially arrived 6th, but were issued a 30 minute penalty as Katherine quit the Roadblock. Three teams checked in during their penalty time, dropping them to last place. However, they were notified that that the leg was a Non-Elimination Leg and the remainder for their penalty would be applied at the start of Leg 9. 13: The Roadblock in Leg 9 was cancelled after the Hot Air Balloon carrying the teams crashed off-course. The task was then converted into an Intersection where both team members competed. 14: Leg 9 had no mandatory rest period between legs, and all teams were ordered to continue racing. Holly & Dolor checked in last on this leg were not faced a penalty in the next leg. 15: Stan & Wayne entered the race on Leg 10 as a stowaway team. They were allowed to start racing after all the teams departed the Ghan station. 16: Chris & Aleisha initially arrived 7th, but were issued a 20 minute penalty for timing out of the challenge at the Adelaide Oval. Stan & Wayne checked in during this time, dropping them to 8th place. 17: MJ & Chelsea initially arrived 5th, but missed the second Detour having arrived at the Pitstop by chance. They were forced to backtrack to complete the Detour before they could check in. Two teams checked in during this time, dropping them to 7th place. 18: Stan & Wayne checked in last on a Non-Elimination Leg and were not assigned a Salvage or a Sabotage. They did not have to face a Speed Bump in the next leg. 19: Stan & Wayne were unable to attempt the Candy Detour due to the challenge site closing. They were directed to proceed to the Pit Stop, where they were informed it was a non-elimination leg. 20: Chris & Aleisha and Brendon & Jackson did not complete the Intersection. As they arrived last to the Pitstop within the bottom two in a non-elimination leg, they were told that they their time penalty was voided. 21: Jaskirat & Anurag checked in last on a Non-Elimination Leg and were not assigned a Salvage or a Sabotage. They did not have to face a Speed Bump in the next leg. 22: Chris & Aleisha checked in last on a Non-Elimination Leg and were not assigned a Salvage or a Sabotage. They did not have to face a Speed Bump in the next leg. 23: Ashleigh & Amanda checked in last on a Non-Elimination Leg and were not assigned a Salvage or a Sabotage. They did not have to face a Speed Bump in the next leg.

Trivia

• With the season's visits to Tasmania and Australian Capital Territory, all 8 of Australia's states and territories have been visited at least once.
• The new "T-Junction" twist was advertised in the pre-season press but ultimately did not appear in this season.
• Due to the introduction of the First Class Pass, no team raced in all legs of this season.
• This season of Amazing Race franchise marked the only series to air in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the first since 2003 that had only one series was The Amazing Race 4 of the American version.
