Teams must take a train to Aberdeen, Scotland. In Aberdeen, teams must choose a marked Ford Focus at the Union Square parking area, which they must drive onto a roll-on/roll-off ferry that they would take to Lerwick in the Shetland Islands. Once at Lerwick, teams must drive themselves to the Royal National Lifeboat Institution, where they must search the station for a puffin mascot, who would give them their next clue.
Choice A: Pony Up
Teams must make their way to the Peats of Scalloway, where they must cut out 50 blocks of peat from a peat bank, using a special spade called a tusker. They must then load a Shetland pony with two loads of dried peat, which they must deliver uphill to a farmer. Once both trips have been made, the farmer would give them their next clue.
Brooke & Robbie, Keith & Whitney, Kym & Alli, Michael & Scott, and Tim & Te Jay chose this task.
Choice B: Light My Fire
Teams must participate in a traditional fire festival called Up Helly Aa. First, they must retrieve materials from the DITT Store in Lerwick, before making their way to the Up Helly Aa Galley Shed, where they must build a traditional viking torch, following a series of steps, with each step requiring approval from a judge before teams are allowed to move on to the next one. Once the judge approves their torch, they must then present it to a guizer jarl at the Shetland Museum's Hay's Dock, who would light their torch and give them their next clue.
Teams must drive themselves to the Berry Farm in Scalloway, where they would find their next clue.
Teams must act as Shetland Sheepdogs, corralling a flock of eight sheep through the center of a course and directing them into a pen to receive their next clue from the shepherd, James.
