I'm Filthy and I Love It is the second episode of The Amazing Race 9.

The teams learn quickly about the toll this Race has on the mind and body. One Racer breaks into tears after facing an extreme fear of heights while repelling down a 400-foot building.

While navigating through the picturesque land of Brazil, frustration gets the better of one racer who is lost and has trouble operating a manual transmission. During an intense challenge, some teams are neck and neck as they scale a waterfall while others are left watching as other teams pass them by.[2]

"Who's ready for a fire drill?" The team member assigned to perform this Roadblock must climb one of three stairwells on the fire escape of Edifício Copan. Once at the top, they would put on a harness and rappel 400 feet (120 m) down the building to receive their next clue. The order in which they arrived at the top of each stairwell would determine the order in which they would descend. The Roadblock performers per team are underlined:

Teams must make their way to Terminal Rodoviário Barra Funda and claim tickets for one of three charter buses leaving at 10:15 am (for the first three teams), 11:15 am (for the next three teams), and 12:15 pm (for the last four teams) to the town of Brotas. Once alighting in Brotas, teams must choose a marked Volkswagen Beetle on which they would find their next clue.

Choice A: Press It
Teams must drive to Camping Bela Vista to process raw sugarcane and distill its juice. Then, teams would have to make 500 ml of ethanol to fuel their cars as an alternative fuel source. After completing the task, teams would have to pour the newly-created ethanol fuel into their car to receive their next clue. Dave & Lori, Lisa & Joni, and Wanda & Desiree chose this task.
Choice B: Climb It
Teams must drive to Usina Jacaré and hike to a nearby waterfall. Once there, they must climb 90 feet up a waterfall using mechanical ascenders to the top to receive their next clue. BJ & Tyler, Danielle & Dani, Eric & Jeremy, Fran & Barry Joseph & Monica, Lake & Michelle, and Ray & Yolanda chose this task.

Teams must drive themselves to Fazenda Primavera da Serra to check in. For coming in first, BJ & Tyler won a trip to Tahiti, courtesy of Travelocity.
