I'm Gonna Take His Girl is the sixth episode of The Amazing Race 2.

Synopsis

A long train ride with the locals in Thailand takes its toll on the teams.

Teams must endure a 15-hour, third class train ride from Bangkok to Northern Thailand then drive into the mountains where they encounter elephants and engage in an intense river-rafting race that causes two teams to come to blows.[2]

Story

Chris & Alex are first to depart from Ban Plai Pong Pang at 6:11 am. They open the clue and it states that teams must take a long boat to Anphawa and travel back to Bangkok and search for a flower vendor around Pak Khlong Talat using given street names to find their next clue. Chris & Alex are making their way to Bangkok by a minivan.

Mary & Peach depart second at 6:42 am and took a minivan as well. Tara & Wil depart third at 7:19 am followed by Blake & Paige at 7:22 am and Gary & Dave at 7:23. Those three teams took a separate minivan to Bangkok. Oswald & Danny depart last at 8:31 am. 

All teams arrive at Bangkok and began searching for the route markers. Chris & Alex found the route marker first and open the clue that states that teams have to take a train to Chiang Mai and find the Old Bridge in Ban Muang Kut to find the next clue. They took a taxi to the Train Station. Mary & Peach found the clue also. The rest of the teams found the route marker and head for the train station.

All teams are able to get the train at 3:00 pm and arrive at 5:50 am the next morning but all teams have to go to the third class train. All teams are taking there spare time shopping and eating. All teams depart at the 3 pm train. They arrive at Chiang Mai and all teams try to find a taxi. Oswald & Danny and Mary & Peach

Route Markers 

The order of departure from Ban Plai Pong Pang are as follows:

  1. Chris & Alex (6:11 am)
  2. Mary & Peach (6:42 am)
  3. Tara & Wil (7:19 am)
  4. Blake & Paige (7:22 am)
  5. Gary & Dave (7:23 am)
  6. Oswald & Danny (8:31 am)

Teams must travel back to Bangkok by car and search for a flower vendor around Pak Khlong Talad flower marker using given street names to find their next clue.

The instructions for the Fast Forward were found with their clue at the beginning of the race. The details of the Fast Forward are unknown as no teams took it.

Teams must take a train to Chiang Mai and find the Old Bridge on Ban Muang Kut to find their next clue.

Choice A: Boat
Teams had to travel 1.5 miles (2.4 km) down the river using a bamboo raft with long wooden poles as the locals do.

All of the teams chose this task.

Choice B: Beast
Teams had to ride the same 1.5 miles (2.4 km) on the back of an elephant down the path next to the river.

None of the teams chose this task.

Teams must choose a marked vehicle and drive themselves to Mae Ping Village.

"For someone who enjoys getting wet."

One team member had to wash a series of chalk decorations from a religious ceremony off an elephant using only water, some soap, and sponge. When the elephant master was satisfied, they were given their next clue.

  • This episode's title was said by Alex after Wil cut ahead of him when reaching the Pit Stop.
  • The alternate title for this episode was "I'll Never Take For Granted a 5-Star Hotel", which was said by Oswald.
