The order of departure from Riad Catalina are as follows:
- Teri & Ian (3:25 am)
- Flo & Zach (5:19 am)
- Ken & Gerard (5:20 am)
- Derek & Drew (5:27 am)
- John Vito & Jill (5:32 am)
- Andre & Damon (7:04 am)
Teams must fly to Munich, Germany. Upon arrival, they must make their way to the Friedensengel. There, they must find "Kasperle", leaving teams to figure out that this referred to a well-known children's puppet show set up near the statue, from which they would receive their next clue.
Teams must take a train to Innsbruck, Austria, then make their way to the Annasäule near the Olympic Village, where they would find their next clue.
The Fast Forward instructions were given to teams at the Friedensengel. Teams must make their way to the Eisbach River, where they must search for a surfer in a standing wave along the river. They must then attract his attention, then follow him downstream to claim the Fast Forward pass. Flo & Zach won the Fast Forward.
Choice A: Sled
Teams must make their way to the Olympic Sliding Centre Innsbruck in the Olympic Village, where they must ride with a professional bobsled team around the track at speeds of 65 km per hour. Once they have completed the ride, they would receive their next clue. Only two bobsleds are available at a time.
Derek & Drew, John Vito & Jill, Ken & Gerard, and Teri & Ian chose this task.
Choice B: Skate
Teams must make their way to the Olympiahalle in the Olympic Village, where they must skate with a pair of professional ice skaters in a relay. Once they have completed the relay, they would receive their next clue. Only two bobsleds are available at a time.
None of the teams chose this task.
Andre & Damon fell too far behind the other teams and did not perform the Detour.Teams must make their way to Hungerburg Station in Nordpark, then ride the Nordkette Cable Car to Seegrube Station, where they would find their next clue.

The team member assigned to perform this Roadblock must don safety gear, then perform a search and rescue exercise by descending 230 feet (70 m) to the ground on a rescue cable. Once at the bottom, they would receive their next clue.

Andre & Damon fell too far behind the other teams and did not perform the Roadblock. Teams must ride the Nordkette Cable Car back to Hungerburg Station, then drive themselves to Schloss Bullachberg in Schwangau, Germany to check in.
For coming in first place, Flo & Zach won two Kodak EasyShare digital cameras.

- This episode marks the first time that The Amazing Race visits the countries of Germany and Austria.
- The location of this episode's first Route Info task, the Friedensengel, would later be used as the Pit Stop in "Many Firsts But Don't Be Last" in The Amazing Race 34. Likewise, this location of this episode's Detour decision point, the Annasäule, would be used for the Partner Swingin' Detour in "Patience, is the New Me" in the same season.
- This episode aired one hour earlier than normal, Wednesday at 8 pm.
- The episode title is said by Derek Riker, after Teri Pollack helped him find his lost clue and believed that he would be indebted to her.
