Teams must make their way back to Sydney and search for "To Sail To Stop", leaving teams to figure out that this referred to a sculpture near Sydney Town Hall, where they would sign up for one of two chartered flights to Broken Hill. The first six teams will be on a flight departing at 6 am, while the last five teams will be on the second flight departing at 6:30 am. Upon arrival at Broken Hill Airport, teams will find their next clue on cars outside the airport.
Teams must drive themselves to the Living Desert Reserve, where they would find their next clue.
Choice A: Spirit World
Teams must make a traditional Australian Aboriginal stone mosaic based on a model. Once their work is approved, they must then perform a dance that is traditionally done to honor ancestors on top of the mosaic to receive their clue from an Aboriginal elder.
All teams chose this task.
Choice B: Natural World
Teams must make traditional Australian Aboriginal paintings by spraying a mix of water and a clay-like pigment out of their mouths to make four specific silhouette images on a piece of slate, an outline of each of their hands and stencils of a lizard and a kangaroo, to receive their clue from an Aboriginal elder.
At the Living Desert Reserve, Amanda & Kris found their penalty from the starting line task, the Automatic U-Turn. Since Amanda & Kris completed the Spirit World Detour, they would be forced to backtrack and complete the Natural World Detour before continuing.
Teams must find the "home of the Magpies", leaving teams to figure out that this referred to the home stadium of the Broken Hill Football League's Central Broken Hill team, nicknamed the "Magpies", Central Football Club, where they would find their next clue.
Teams must dress up as kangaroos, complete with Kangaroo Jump shoes, and must use a provided periodic table with the symbols "Hg" and "Bi" highlighted. They must figure out that these are the symbols for mercury and bismuth and that those elements were also names of two streets in town that meet at an intersection where their would find their next clue
Teams, with their kangaroo suits still on, must drive themselves to Junction Mine to check in.
For coming in first place, Zev & Justin won a trip for two to Cancun, Mexico, provided by Travelocity.
