If I Were in Town, I'd Ask for Your Number (Part 1) is the seventh episode of The Amazing Race: All-Stars.
Synopsis[]
Frustration levels hit a high for one team when locals completely ignore them and refuse to help, while another racer attempts to stop the plane by running out on to tarmac.[2]
Story[]
Route Markers[]
The order of departure from Old Fort of Zanzibar are as follows:
- Charla & Mirna (4:20 am)
- Oswald & Danny (4:28 am)
- Uchenna & Joyce (7:55 am)
- Dustin & Kandice (8:00 am)
- Eric & Danielle (3:15 pm)
- Joe & Bill (7:01 pm)
Teams must fly to Warsaw, Poland. Due to the limited number of flights out of Zanzibar City, teams have been given tickets to Warsaw. However, they are not obligated to use them and may look for another itinerary. Upon arrival, they must make their way to Czapski Palace, known as Frédéric Chopin's childhood home, and search the palace for a Chopin impersonator playing the piano to find their next clue.
Choice A: Perfect Pitch
Teams must make their way three-quarters of a mile to the Prymas Palace, choose a grand piano, and use the provided tools to tune one key of the keyboard. Once a concert pianist plays a piece of Chopin's music and determines that their piano is in tune, he would give them their next clue.
Dustin & Kandice, Eric & Danielle, Oswald & Danny, and Uchenna & Joyce chose this task.
Choice B: Perfect Angle
Teams must make their way approximately half a mile to the Escada Boutique to pick up a mannequin and carry it another 400 yards to the Panoramik Laboratory. Once there, teams must use an x-ray machine to locate a clue embedded somewhere inside their mannequin, which would need to be positioned at a very specific angle for the image to capture the name of their next destination.
Teams must make their way to Łazienki Park and find the statue of King Jan III Sobieski, where they would find their next clue.
The team member assigned to perform this Roadblock must row a boat out onto the reflecting pool from Łazienki Park to Łazienki Palace. No further details about the task are known, as the task was unaired.
The Roadblock performers per team are underlined:
Danny and Kandice were both wearing life-vests on when getting the clue that directed them to the Pit Stop. Meanwhile, Danielle and Mirna by the end of the race had completed only 5 aired Roadblocks, as both of their partners maxed out at 6, meaning that they had done this task by default. Uchenna and Bill confirmed later respectively that Joyce and Joe completed the task.[3]Teams must make their way on foot to Łazienki Palace to check in.
For coming in first, Dustin & Kandice won a trip to Puerto Rico provided by Travelocity.
For coming in last place, Joe & Bill are "marked for elimination". If they do not arrive first in the next leg, they would be assessed a 30-minute penalty.Leaderboard[]
