If I Were in Town, I'd Ask for Your Number (Part 2) is the eighth episode of The Amazing Race: All-Stars.
Synopsis[]
Teams head to Warsaw, Poland where a disagreement sparks an intense argument and name calling between teammates.[2]
Story[]
Route Markers[]
The order of departure from Łazienki Palace are as follows:
- Dustin & Kandice (10:54 pm)
- Oswald & Danny (1:06 am)
- Uchenna & Joyce (2:26 am)
- Charla & Mirna (4:50 am)
- Eric & Danielle (1:50 pm)
- Joe & Bill (3:32 pm)
Teams must travel to the monument of the Polish Underground State and the Home Army, where they must claim tickets for one of two charter buses to their next destination, the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp. The first charter bus would depart at 1 pm, while the second charter bus would depart at 5 pm. At the concentration camp, teams must light a memorial candle on the railroad tracks to honor those who lost their lives during The Holocaust. Once they have observed the memorial silence, they would receive their next clue.
Teams must take a taxi to Kraków and find Juliusz Słowacki Theatre, where they would find their next clue.
At Juliusz Słowacki Theatre, the teams encountered an Intersection, where two teams must work together until further notice.
The teams that Intersected are as follows:
The Fast Forward instructions were given to teams after finding their clue at Juliusz Słowacki Theatre. The intersected teams must climb a set of stairs up two different towers in Kraków's Main Market Square, the "fire guard" tower of St. Mary's Basilica and the Town Hall, count how many stairs there are in each tower, add these numbers together, then present it to a guard at the top of the fire guard tower. If they calculate the correct answer (348), they would win the Fast Forward. Oswald & Danny and Uchenna & Joyce won the Fast Forward.
Choice A: Eat It Up
The intersected teams must make their way one and a half miles to an old market. Once there, they must use traditional methods to make one 3-inch length of Polish kielbasa each. After finishing, the teams would be served 8 feet of cooked kielbasa. Once each person ate 2 feet of sausage, the teams would receive their next clue.
Charla & Mirna, Dustin & Kandice, Eric & Danielle, and Joe & Bill chose this task.
Choice B: Roll It Out
The intersected teams must make their way one and a half miles to the J. Mazurek bakery in the city's Kazimierz, the Old Jewish Quarter, and properly roll out twenty bagels. When finished, they would make their way on foot one quarter of a mile to Klezmer Hois with a delivery of fresh bagels for the headwaiter. Once delivered, they would receive their next clue.
Teams, who are no longer intersected, must drive themselves to Sułoszowa and find Pieskowa Skała, where they would find their next clue.
"Who wants to be a knight in shining armor?"
The team member assigned to perform this Roadblock must don a full suit of authentic medieval armor and lead a horse half a mile through the forest to the castle gates. Once at the castle, they must deliver the horse to the stable boy, enter the courtyard, and check in at the Pit Stop.
The Roadblock performers per team are underlined:
For coming in first, Uchenna & Joyce won a trip to St. Lucia provided by Travelocity. While Uchenna & Joyce and Oswald & Danny tied for first, there was only one prize to be given away. Oswald & Danny opted not to take the prize and give it to Uchenna & Joyce.Leaderboard[]
