Member of Parliament Ilmari Nurminen has been successful in the national political game for a long time. She was elected to Parliament already in 2015 as a member of the Social Democratic Party. The 32-year-old Ilmari is thus a second-term Member of Parliament – and also known as a friend of former Prime Minister Sanna Marin.

Ilmari is accompanied by his spouse Aapo Hettula. He is empathetic and friendly, but also knows how to be demanding and precise. These qualities are useful to Aapo, as he works as a dentist. To balance their work, Ilmari and Aapo play a lot of sports together.

The couple has two homes: one in Tampere and the other in Helsinki. Ilmari and Aapo have travelled a lot during their few years together, but otherwise they are not very familiar with backpacking. So they jump into the unknown, but with good confidence. Ilmari and Aapo think that Ilmari's athleticism and Aapo's military background will help them on their way to winning the entire competition.

Fun fact: Of all the foods in the world, the duo mentions the goat ball pad as their dislike.^[1]
