It Always Comes Down to Details is the eleventh episode of The Amazing Race 6.
Synopsis
Teams race more than 3000 miles to city of Sigiriya in Sri Lanka.
In an Olympic-style relay to receive the next clue, one racer smokes the competition. Also, tensions continue to rise for one team as a stroke of bad luck brings one member to the brink of quitting the race; and a fear of heights plagues one racer who breaks into tears during the Detour challenge.[1]
Story
Route Markers
The order of departure from Lalibela Lookout are as follows:
- Hayden & Aaron (1:16 am)
- Lori & Bolo (1:31 am)
- Kris & Jon (1:48 am)
- Freddy & Kendra (2:13 am)
- Adam & Rebecca (2:30 am)
Teams must take a charter flight from Lalibela to Addis Ababa. Upon arrival, teams must find the Addis Ababa Stadium to search for their next clue.
Teams would have to choose two locals runners, then complete a 4-man relay on the tracks to receive their next clue.
Teams must fly to Colombo, Sri Lanka. Upon arrival teams must take a train to Galle to search for their next clue at Fort Galle.
Choice A: Tree Trunks
Teams would have to make their way 2 miles by tuk-tuk to a coconut plantation. Once there, each person would have to climb to the top of a 50-foot tree and take down a jug filled with tree sap. Each team member must the empty the sap into a container to receive the next clue.
Adam & Rebecca, Hayden & Aaron, Kris & Jon, and Lori & Bolo chose this task.
Choice B: Elephant Trunks
Teams would have to make their way 2.5 miles by tuk-tuk to an elephant polo field. Each team member would have to ride an elephant down the length of the field, hitting a polo ball around a large pole and score a goal in order to receive their next clue.
Teams must take a bus more than 70 miles to the city of Kandy, and made their way to the Kandyan Art Association. Once there, they must purchase an offering, and make their way on foot to the nearby Temple of the Tooth, and exchange the offering for their clue.
Team must take a bus to Dambulla and travel by tuk-tuk to the ancient city of Sigiriya. At Sigiriya, they will find their clue near Lion's Rock.
The team member assigned to perform this Roadblock would have to ascend more than 1,000 steps to the top of Lion Rock. Using binoculars to scan the jungle from a vantage point 600 feet above the ground, they had to search for a flag, then descend Lion Rock to their partner and proceed to the flag. The flag was located near a swimming pool at Hotel Sigiriya which they had to swim the length of before checking in at the nearby Pit Stop mat.
