The team member assigned to this Roadblock must be harnessed to a canyon swing and then take a 70 mph free-fall down 400 feet (120 m) down the gorge. Once back on solid ground, they must then find their next clue somewhere in the gorge. The Roadblock performers per team are underlined:
Teams must take a helicopter to Grimsel Pass and search for their next clue.
Choice A: Water Power
Teams must rice the world's steepest funicular, the Gelmerbahn, and memorize eight signs that list water basins and how much water they hold. Teams will then run across a hydroelectric dam amd match the eight basin names to their water capacities on a technical map to receive their next clue, or they would have to ride again until they get it right. Leo & Jamal and Nicole & Victor chose this task.
Choice B: Water Down
Teams must go canyoning in the Grimsel Canyon and then rappel 150 feet (46 m), jump from a ledge into a glacial river, and then jump to get their next clue handing from a rope. Teams will then have to zip-line and release themselves down into the river to continue. Becca & Floyd, Chris & Bret, Colin & Christie, Rachel & Elissa, and Tyler & Korey chose this task.
