Lookin' Like a Blue-Haired Lady on a Sunday Drive is the tenth episode of The Amazing Race 10.

Synopsis[]

Will one long-standing alliance continue to stay strong or will teams finally break out on their own to improve their standing?

Teams are feeling the pressure to perform their best as there is little room for error at this stage of the Race. At the Virtual Pit Stop, all teams must repel face-first down a 236 foot high tower. One team is put to the ultimate test as they face their extreme fear of heights in order to complete the challenge and continue Racing. Two teams race head-to-head the entire leg of the Race and form an uneasy partnership. Frustration continues to mount as one team's bad luck with automobiles continues.[2]

Story[]

Route Markers[]

Teams must fly to the capital of the country where the Chernobyl disaster took place, leaving teams to figure out that their next destination was Kiev, Ukraine. Upon arrival, teams must choose a marked Soviet-era Volga car, which contains their next clue.

Teams must drive themselves to Oster and find the Oster Tank School, where they would find their next clue.

"Who's ready to take command?"

The team member assigned to perform this Roadblock must drive a Soviet T-64 tank through a 1.5-mile (2,400 m) oval-shaped training course used for simulated military exercises, featuring large puddles of muddy water and simulated explosions. Once they finished the course, they would receive their next clue.

The Roadblock performers per team are underlined:

Teams must drive themselves back to Kiev and find a marked apartment complex. At the complex, they must find Apartment 33 and knock on the door to receive their next clue.

Choice A: Make the Music
Teams must travel 3 miles to Dance & Groove, a hip hop dance club part of Kiev's underground rap movement, and write and perform a rap song incorporating the names of all the countries visited so far on the Race. After the judge approved a team's performance, they would receive their next clue.

Dustin & Kandice, Lyn & Karlyn, and Rob & Kimberly chose this task.

Choice B: Find the Music
Teams must travel 2.5 miles to the Ukrainian National Music Academy search through thousands of pieces of sheet music for Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky's Concert Fantasia for Piano and Orchestra. Once they find the correct music, they must search among 120 practice rooms for one of six pianists to perform the piece for them. Once the pianist has completed the piece, they would receive their next clue.

Erwin & Godwin and Tyler & James chose this task.

Teams must drive themselves to the Great Patriotic War Museum to check in. For coming in first, Tyler & James won a trip to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, including swimming with dolphins and cruising through the jungle canopy.
