Loose Lips Sink Ships is the second episode of The Amazing Race 22.
The order of departure from Motu Café are as follows:
Teams must travel by water taxi to the island of Motu Toopua and find the Hilton Bora Bora Nui. Once there, teams must find the chapel to receive a blessing and their next clue from the priest.
Choice A: Pick a Pearl
Teams would have to travel half a mile off shore in the open water where they have to dive beneath the waves to untie lines of pearl oyster shells. They then have to shuck open to find two red pearls. Once they've found the two pearls, they must swim over to an oyster farmer to receive their next clue. Bates & Anthony, Chuck & Wynona, Dave & Connor, Jessica & John, Joey & Meghan, and Pam & Winnie completed this task.
Choice B: Take a Trunk
Teams would have to dive underwater, wearing special diving helmets, to look for a series of treasure trunks. They then have to take the trunk over to a submerged umbrella and unpack its contents, setting up an underwater picnic table to an underwater waiter's approval to receive their next clue. Caroline & Jennifer, Idries & Jamil, Max & Katie, and Mona & Beth completed this task.
Teams must swim to a personal watercraft and, using a local map, take it to the island of Motu Tapu. Once there, teams must search the beach for their next clue.
The team member assigned to perform the Roadblock would have to participated in a traditional Polynesian test of strength, walking on a pair of sparring stilts while kicking a coconut across a 35-yard stretch of beach. If they fall off of stilts, they have to return to starting line, but the position of the coconut would not be reset. Once the racer has successfully kicked the coconut over the finish line, team can travel on foot to the nearby Pit Stop to check in. The Roadblock performers per team are underlined:
- Bates & Anthony
- Caroline & Jennifer
- Chuck & Wynona
- Dave & Connor
- Idries & Jamil
- Jessica & John
- Joey & Meghan
- Max & Katie
- Mona & Beth
- Pam & Winnie
For coming in first place, Bates & Anthony won a trip for two to London, provided by Travelocity.
