Story[]

Route Markers[]

The order of departure from Water Taxi Pier in Motu Toopua are as follows:

  1. Jessica & John (2:56 am)
  2. Bates & Anthony
  3. Dave & Connor
  4. Pam & Winnie
  5. Mona & Beth
  6. Joey & Meghan
  7. Chuck & Wynona
  8. Idries & Jamil
  9. Max & Katie (9:14 am)
  10. Caroline & Jennifer (9:15 am)
Only Jessica & John, Max & Katie, and Caroline & Jennifer's departure times were shown on-screen. The other seven teams' departure times are unknown.

Teams must take a water taxi to the Hilton Bora Bora Nui on the island of Motu Toopua. Once there, teams must find the chapel, where they would receive a blessing from a priest and their next clue.

Choice A: Pick a Pearl
Teams must travel half a mile offshore in the open waters of Povai Bay, where they must dive beneath the waves to untie lines of pearl oyster shells and shuck them open to find two red pearls. Once they have found two red pearls, they must swim over to an oyster farmer and trade the pearls for their next clue.

Bates & Anthony, Chuck & Wynona, Dave & Connor, Jessica & John, Joey & Meghan, and Pam & Winnie chose this task.

Choice B: Take a Trunk
Teams must dive underwater in Povai Bay, wearing special diving helmets, to look for a series of treasure trunks. They must take a trunk over to a submerged umbrella and unpack its contents, setting up an underwater picnic table to an underwater waiter's approval to receive their next clue. Only six workstations are available at a time.

Caroline & Jennifer, Idries & Jamil, Max & Katie, and Mona & Beth chose this task.

Teams must swim to a nearby personal watercraft and, using a provided map, ride it to the island of Motu Tapu, where they would find their next clue.

"Who's a well-balanced individual?"

The team member assigned to perform this Roadblock must participate in a traditional Polynesian test of strength, walking on a pair of sparring stilts while kicking a coconut across a 35-yard stretch of beach. If they fall off of stilts, they must return to starting line, but the position of their coconut would not be reset. Once they have successfully kicked their coconut over the finish line, they may search for the nearby Pit Stop to check in.

The Roadblock performers per team are underlined:

For coming in first place, Bates & Anthony won a trip for two to London, provided by Travelocity.
