Louie & Michael

Louie Stravato and Michael Naylor are a team of Detectives on The Amazing Race 16.

Although the detectives started the race languishing near the back of the pack, they hit their stride once the race reached Europe, winning three consecutive legs. They formed a close working relationship with Brent & Caite, alleging to them that Carol & Brandy made a negative comment regarding Caite's history with beauty pageants on the first leg, fueling that rivalry for the rest of the race. Louie & Michael also made strategic use of the U-Turn, first using it themselves to knock out Joe & Heidi, then getting Brent & Caite to U-Turn Carol & Brandy, eliminating the latter team from the race. However, once at the final four, they struggled with the language barrier in China, only to be saved by a Non-Elimination Leg. Dan & Jordan then targeted the detectives due to their resulting Speed Bump, sticking close to the detectives throughout the penultimate leg. This strategy, along with Louie struggling with the Roadblock, gave Dan & Jordan enough of a gap to beat Louie & Michael, eliminating the detectives in 4th place.

Role Model/Hero: My Dad. He has accomplished so much in life and is loved by his family, friends and peers. Though he lives in a lot of physical pain, he's always there to do whatever he can regardless of his condition
What are you passionate about? Life and living it to the fullest and teaching my children to do the same
What would you do if you won the million dollars? I would live comfortably and do a lot of traveling
People would be surprised to learn: My life is pretty much an open book, so I'm not sure I could surprise anybody

Biggest challenge you and your teammate will face on the Race together: Keeping up with each other
What do you hope to accomplish by running the Race (other than winning one million bucks)? To show my children that anything is possible as long as you put your heart and soul into it.

Post Race[]

Louie was placed on desk duty while he was investigated for being potentially in a cocaine distribution.^[2] He was later cleared of involvement.^[3]
Louie has since retired as a police officer.^[4]

Trivia[]

Louie & Michael are the first team of police officers. This would be followed by Michael & Moe.
- Andre Plummer was the first active police officer to compete in The Amazing Race overall.
Louie & Michael have the lowest racing average of an all-male team who won three legs during a season, at 4.36.
Louie & Michael are the only all-male team to be eliminated in The Amazing Race 16.
Louie is the uncle of Big Brother 16 winner Derrick Levasseur.
