Tastes Like a Million Dollars is the fifth episode of The Amazing Race 17.

The order of departure from the Swedish side of the Norway–Sweden border are as follows:

1. Nat & Kat (6:00 am)
2. Brook & Claire (6:04 am)
3. Gary & Mallory (6:05 am)
4. Michael & Kevin (6:30 am)
5. Jill & Thomas (6:48 am)
6. Nick & Vicki (7:11 am)
7. Chad & Stephanie (8:12 am)

Teams must drive themselves to Narvik, Norway. Once there, teams must find the Fagernesfjellet Mountain gondola station and ride the gondola to the top. There, teams would find their next clue.

The Fast Forward instructions were given to teams after receiving their clue at Fagernesfjellet Mountain. Teams must drive themselves to the Stornaustet restaurant, where they would participate in a traditional Norwegian Christmas ritual, which they would discover was eating smalahove, which consists of a boiled sheep's head. Once they have both eaten half of the sheep's head, they would win the Fast Forward. Nat & Kat won the Fast Forward.

Teams must travel back down the mountain and drive themselves to Skjomen Bridge, where they would find their next clue.

"Strength, Stamina, Guts: You'd better have all three!"

The team member assigned to this Roadblock must rappel off the Skjomen Bridge and then signal for one of two waiting boats to give them their next clue. After retrieving the clue from the boat, the they must then use a mechanical ascender to return to the bridge deck.

Teams must drive themselves to Hårvika and find a marked field, where they would find their next clue.

Choice A: Bike
Teams must ride a bicycle along a marked course to a sign, where combinations of numbers and colors were shown. They must memorize the combination of the color that matched the color of their bicycle lock, return to the starting point, and then use the combination to unlock their next clue.

Gary & Mallory, Jill & Thomas, and Nick & Vicki chose this task.

Choice B: Boat
Teams must use a provided map to navigate a fishing trawler to a specific location. There, they must deliver two cod and a chainsaw to a summer lodge to receive their next clue.

Brook & Claire, Chad & Stephanie, Katie & Rachel, and Michael & Kevin chose this task.

Teams must drive themselves to Ankenes Marina to check in.
For coming in first place, Nat & Kat won a trip for two to Costa Rica, provided by Travelocity.
