Tears of a Clown is the season premiere of The Amazing Race 20.

Story[]

The race begins at Bridlewood Estate Winery in Santa Ynez, California, United States.

Teams must search through 100 balloons with baskets at the winery for one of only eleven that held their next clue.

Teams must fly to Salta, Argentina. The first flight could carry six teams and is scheduled to arrive two and a half hours ahead of the second, which would carry the remaining five teams. Upon arrival, teams must drive themselves to Santa Bárbara, where they would find their next clue beside a road sign at the town's entrance.

Teams must drive themselves to Aeródromo Gilberto Lavaque, where they would find their next clue.

"Who's got a great sense of direction?"

The team member assigned to perform this Roadblock must use a provided map to navigate to a skydiving drop zone. Meanwhile, the non-participating member must board an airplane and perform a tandem skydive with an instructor to that location. Once the team is reunited, the jumpmaster would give them their next clue.

Teams must drive themselves to Patios de Cafayate, where they would find their next clue.

Teams must make 120 empanadas, 60 filled with meat and 60 filled with cheese, with both types having a different crimping pattern. Once the proper quantity of empanadas are made correctly, the empanada champion would allow them to search the grounds to check in.
For coming in first place, Rachel & Dave won the Express Pass.
