That's What Being Strong Will Do is the eighth episode of The Amazing Race 36.
Story[]
For the first time in THE AMAZING RACE history, teams travel to Barbados where they visit the childhood home of superstar Rihanna.
Route Markers[]
Teams were transported to Bridgetown, Barbados, and began the next leg at Chamberlain Bridge.
The order of departure from Chamberlain Bridge are as follows:
- Ricky & Cesar (7:40 am)
- Angie & Danny (7:40 am)
- Rod & Leticia (7:55 am)
- Amber & Vinny (7:55 am)
- Yvonne & Melissa (8:10 am)
- Juan & Shane (8:10 am)
Teams must drive themselves to the intersection of Fairfield Road and Parkinson Road in the neighborhood of Black Rock, where they would find their next clue.
"Who wants to get into the swing of things?"
The team member assigned to this Roadblock must play a game of road tennis against a local player. Once they have scored 11 points, they would receive their next clue.

Teams must drive themselves to the childhood home of Barbadian singer Rihanna, where they would find their next clue.
Teams must drive themselves to Long Bay Beach in Christ Church parish, where they would find their next clue.
Choice A: Fish Pot Building
Teams must use provided materials to construct a fish pot, following a finished example as reference. Once the fisherman is satisfied with their work, he would give teams their next clue.
Amber & Vinny, Angie & Danny, Ricky & Cesar, Rod & Leticia, and Yvonne & Melissa chose this task.
Choice B: Seaweed Clearing
Teams must clear the beach of invasive sargassum seaweed, using a wheelbarrow to transport the seaweed from one end of the beach to a barrel at the other end. Once they have filled their barrel with seaweed, they would receive their next clue.
Teams must drive themselves to a location depicted on a postcard, which they must figure out depicted Hastings Rocks, to check in.
For coming in first place, Ricky & Cesar won $7,500 each.

Trivia[]
- This episode marks the first time that The Amazing Race visits the country of Barbados.
- Although the episode depicted that Angie & Danny were held by production at the Detour decision point until their camera and sound crew arrived, Angie & Danny revealed in an interview that they had actually been debriefed by the show's security team prior to the start of the leg that they should proceed to the next location and wait for their crew in the event that they were separated. They further revealed that their crew failed to arrive at the Detour decision point after around 45 minutes, after which production allowed them to proceed with the Race with an available camera and sound crew, and that they were not given a time credit to compensate for the time lost.[1]
