The Amazing Race 27 is the twenty-seventh installment of the reality television show, The Amazing Race. It premiered on September 25, 2015 on CBS.
Production[]
Applications for the season were due on February 2015. Semi-finalist interviews were held in March 2015, and the final casting interviews were held in April 2015.
Like in The Amazing Race 25, filming started on June 22, 2015 with the Starting Line takes place in Venice Beach, Los Angeles and was opened to the public, thus allowing the identity of the teams to be revealed on the same day.[1] The reveal that the teams were headed to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and the race travelled within 5 continents and 10 countries. Filming concluded on July 14, 2015.
Long-time sponsor Travelocity and Fitbit continue their sponsorships this season, Ford discontinued their sponsorship for this season. This season was, therefore, the first American edition, or any International version, with no production-provided vehicles to be driven by the racers since the franchise's inception in 2001.
Also, Phil Keoghan doesn't introduce the teams' names at the start of the season, instead, the teams introduce their lifestyle.
