Due to 2017 being the {{wp|150th anniversary of Canada|150th anniversary of the Confederation of Canada}}, some legs featured a task that was specially introduced as a ''150 Challenge'', involving themes distinctive to Canada. While they had no actual effect on gameplay, they were a factor in the final leg's memory challenge.

The Amazing Race Canada 5 is the fifth installment of the reality television show, The Amazing Race Canada. It was announced on May 4, 2017 by Bell Media.[1]

Production

There were plans for a leg in Kenya for this season, however the leg was scrapped due to risks on the way to safari locations.[2]

This season featured the addition of interactive online content, including live viewer polls during episode airings, and 360-degree video of the locations visited through the season.

Due to 2017 being the 150th anniversary of the Confederation of Canada, some legs featured a task that was specially introduced as a 150 Challenge, involving themes distinctive to Canada. While they had no actual effect on gameplay, they were a factor in the final leg's memory challenge.
