The Amazing Race Central Europe was a planned reality game show based on the original American television program, The Amazing Race.
The race was to be produced by Sony Pictures Television International's AXN Central Europe. It included 11 teams, with at least one from each country that receives AXN-Central Europe: Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, and Bulgaria. Applications for the first installment closed on August 20, 2005 .
Most of the rules and regulations were the same as those of the American edition, but with a prize of only US$100,000, and an age limit reduced to 18.
According to reality blurred, the race was cast and was to air soon afterwards,[1] but by August 2006 , the series had not aired. AXN-Central Europe removed The Amazing Race Central Europe from their websites, perhaps indicating that the plan for a Central Europe version has been canceled.
In June 2007
, Sony Sources confirmed that the season was currently on hold with no due date for broadcast. It was not clear if the show had been recorded, but it was never aired on television.External links[]
