The Amazing Race Vietnam 2016 is the fifth season of the reality television show, The Amazing Race Vietnam. It is the first international season to cast returning players. This season premiered on March 31, 2016 on VTV6 and VTV9.

Notes: 1: Licoln & Tiến Đạt and Pha Lê & Việt Dũng initially arrived in 1st and 3rd, respectively. However, both teams incurred a 15-minute penalty because Lincoln and Việt Dũng took the clue out of their mouth during the first task. Licoln & Tiến Đạt's position was not affected, while Pha Lê & Việt Dũng fell to 4th. 2: Thanh Hoa could not complete the Roadblock, and Mimi did not attempt it. Both teams received a 2 hour penalty before receiving their next clue. 3: Song Ngư & Trúc Như initially arrived in 6th. However, they received a 30-minute penalty for being "Marked for Elimination" and not arriving in 1st. They dropped to 9th. 4: Đăng Hoàng & Thùy Anh initially arrived in 7th, but received a 30-minute penalty for spilling too much water during the last challenge. They fell to last place and were eliminated. 5: Many teams received penalties upon arriving at the Pit Stop on the 4th leg, based on how many congee dishes they failed to cook properly in an earlier task. Listed is the original arrival of teams and the penalty they received (non-bold teams did not receive a penalty): Việt Dũng & Pha Lê: 1st (20 minutes); Minh Long & Thu Hiền: 2nd (30 minutes); Lincoln & Tiến Đạt: 3rd (10 minutes); Thanh Hoa & Anh Tuấn: 4th; Phúc Vinh & Thuỳ Dung: 5th; Hương Giang & Criss : 6th; Mâu Thủy & Ngọc Minh: 7th (50 minutes) and eliminated; Richie & Mimi: 8th (10 minutes); Song Ngư & Trúc Như': 9th (20 minutes) 6: Hương Giang & Criss initially arrived in 1st, but received a 30-minute penalty because Hương Giang did not wear the provided chef's hat during the fast food challenge. This did not affect their placement. 7: All teams except for Lincoln & Tiến Đạt received a time penalty at the Pit Stop for failing to eat their bowl of Phở within the time limit. 'Hương Giang & Criss received a 15-minute penalty for only eating 3 kg, while the others received a 1-hour penalty for only eating 2 kg. Phúc Vinh & Thuỳ Dung dropped from 2nd to 3rd, but no other team placement was affected. 8: Lincoln & Tiến Đạt, having not used their Express Pass, were required to hand it over to host Huy Khánh at the Pit Stop on Leg 9, the last leg in which they could use it.
