The Longest Minute of Your Life is the season finale of The Amazing Race 36.
Story[]
In the penultimate leg, the final four teams compete for the chance to make the final three and one racer receives the surprise of a lifetime after their elimination. Then, in the final leg, the remaining three teams get schooled in American history, and after eight countries, 14 cities and 11,711 miles, one team will be crowned the winners of THE AMAZING RACE and win the $1 million prize.

Leg 10[]
Teams were transported to Sosúa, Dominican Republic, and began the next leg on a catamaran off Sosúa Beach.
The order of departure from Sosúa Beach are as follows:
- Ricky & Cesar (10:00 am)
- Rod & Leticia (10:00 am)
- Juan & Shane (10:15 am)
- Amber & Vinny (10:15 am)
Teams must swim out to a marked buoy and dive down to retrieve their next clue.
Choice A: Dive Trip
Teams must assemble four diving rigs and load them onto a boat. Once the captain has approved their work, they must use rollers to launch the boat to receive their next clue.
None of the teams chose this task.
Choice B: Rum Sip
Teams must make their way to Diversity Bar, where they must take rum drink orders from any six among a group of nine pirates. They must then follow a provided recipe to make each drink (rum sour, excelencia, santo libre, ron golpe, coco loco, Caribbean mule, mojito, piña colada, or huracán) to the bartender's satisfaction before serving it to the correct pirate. Once they have correctly served drinks to six pirates, they would receive their next clue.
Teams must choose a driver and a marked taxi, then direct their driver to Cabarete Beach, where they would find their next clue.
"Who wants to take a stand?"
The team member assigned to this Roadblock must learn how to windsurf from an instructor. If they could balance on the board and hold the sail up without falling into the water for 1 minute, they would receive their next clue.

Teams must direct their driver to Olympus Beach, where they would find their next clue on a dune buggy.
Teams must drive a dune buggy along a marked path, they kayak across a river to Wilson's Bar to check in.
For coming in first place, Rod & Leticia won Expedia cashback rewards for a trip for two to Rome, Italy.
Leg 11[]
Teams were flown to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and simultaneously began the next leg at the top of the Rocky Steps at the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
None of the teams' departure times were shown in this leg.
Teams must drive themselves to Lincoln Financial Field, where they would find their next clue.
"Who's got team spirit?"
The team member assigned to this Roadblock must don an Amazing Race-themed mascot costume and undergo a mascot training drill. They must navigate an obstacle course, then hit a target with a t-shirt cannon to receive their next clue from Swoop, Phillie Phanatic, or Gritty.
The Roadblock performers per team are underlined:
Teams must "find [their] next clue between Pat's and Geno's", leaving them to figure out that this referred to the intersection between Pat's King of Steaks and Geno's Steaks, where they would find their next clue.
Teams must drive themselves to Headhouse Square, where they would find their next clue.
Each team member must memorize and recite two portions of the preamble of the United States Declaration of Independence. If each team member could recite their selected portions perfectly, they would receive their next clue.
Teams must drive themselves to Betsy Ross House, where they would find their next clue.
"Who wants to earn their stripes?"
The team member assigned to perform this Roadblock must listen to a lecture from impersonators of George Washington, Betsy Ross, and Benjamin Franklin, who would each give them cryptic hints on how to assemble a Betsy Ross flag puzzle that displayed the names of the Thirteen Colonies in the order that they became states. Once they have correctly assembled the puzzle, they would receive their next clue.

Teams must make their way on foot to Arch Street Friends Meeting House, where they would find their next clue.
Teams must to assemble a three-dimensional Liberty Bell puzzle in order. Once they have correctly assembled the puzzle and hung it on a yoke, they would receive their next clue.
Teams must make their way to Glen Foerd Estate and cross the Finish Line.

- This is the first season finale to air in the month of May since "The Only First That Matters" in The Amazing Race 28.
- This marks the first season finale since "This One Is for One Million Dollars" in The Amazing Race 31 to feature the last two legs. Unlike previous finales that featured the final two legs over two hours, this episode had a 90-minute runtime.
- Like in the sixth episode, this was originally intended to be aired as two separate 60-minute episodes, but was combined into one single episode.
- Following Amber Craven's elimination at the end of Leg 10, Leticia Gardner was the last female left standing.
- The episode title is said by Ricky Rotandi.
