The order of departure from Café Thu Thiem are as follows:
- Teri & Ian (5:19 am)
- Flo & Zach (5:58 am)
- Ken & Gerard (6:13 am)
Teams must take a train to Huế. Once there, they must make their way to the Hiển Lâm Các Pavilion in the Imperial City, where they would find their next clue.
Teams must take a taxi to the Nam O Bridge in Da Nang, where they would find their next clue.
Choice A: Basket Boats
Teams must, without outside assistance, each cross a stretch of the Cu Đê River in a round basket boat using only a single paddle each to reach a nearby island, where they would find their next clue.
Only Flo & Zach chose this task.
Choice B: Basket Bikes
Teams must, without outside assistance, each take a bicycle loaded with dozens of shrimp baskets and ride them 1 mile (1.6 km) along a marked course. At the end of the course, they would find their next clue.
Teams must make their way to the Bach Dang Street Boat Quay in Hội An, where they must choose a marked sampan that would take them to a buoy in the middle of the Thu Bồn River, where they would find their next clue.
"That person that should be fishing for a clue."
The team member assigned to perform this Roadblock must climb onto a fishing platform and use a wooden winch to raise a fishing net out of the water. Once the clue dangling underneath the net is visible, they may retrieve their next clue.

Teams must take their sampan back to Bach Dang Street Boat Quay, then make their way to China Beach to check in.
For coming in first place, Teri & Ian won a seven-day Alaskan cruise on the Radiance of the Seas cruise ship, provided by Royal Caribbean.

The order of departure from China Beach are as follows:
- Teri & Ian (5:35 am)
- Ken & Gerard (5:52 am)
- Flo & Zach (8:02 am)
Teams must make their way to Quang Minh Temple, where they would find their next clue.
Teams must make their way to Phòng Bán Vé Booking Center in Da Nang, where they must book a flight from Hanoi to Honolulu, Hawaii, United States. They must then take a train to Hanoi, then fly to Honolulu. Upon arrival, they must drive themselves to Puaena Point in Haleʻiwa, where they must participate in a traditional Hawaiian ceremony. After the ceremony, teams would receive their next clue.
Teams must fly to the island of Kauai. Once there, they must drive themselves to Wailua River State Park, then follow the marked path to Wailua Falls, where they would find their next clue.
Choice A: Quick Drop
Teams must drop 160 feet (49 m) from the top of Wailua Falls on a zipline into the pool below. After detaching, they must swim to shore, then follow the marked path behind the falls, where they would find their next clue.
All teams chose this task.
Choice B: Slow Walk
Teams must walk along a long, winding marked path to the base of Wailua Falls, where they would find their next clue.
Teams must fly to Seattle, Washington. Upon arrival, they must make their way to Kerry Park, where they would find their next clue.
Teams must make their way on foot to the International Fountain at the Seattle Center, where they would find their next clue.
Teams must make their way to Lincoln Park, where they would find their next clue.
"That person that should have a good memory."
The team member assigned to perform this Roadblock must spin the animal faces on a totem pole so that they were aligned in the chronological order that teams encountered them during the Race. The correct order is donkey, dolphin, horse, goat, and manatee. Once they are in the correct order, the mouth of the totem pole will open to reveal their next clue.

Teams must make their way to Gas Works Park and cross the Finish Line.

- This is the first season to have the penultimate leg take place in a foreign country.
- The final tasks in Seattle were filmed on September 8, 2002.[2]
- Leg 12's Basket Bikes Detour would return as a Roadblock in "Riding a Bike Is Like Riding a Bike" in The Amazing Race 29.
- In the premiere of The Amazing Race: All-Stars (2007), Teri & Ian claimed that they finished less than two minutes behind Flo & Zach at the Finish Line.
- This is the last episode of the US version in a 9pm timeslot until "All's Fair in Love and War" in The Amazing Race 30.
- This is the first season where the final leg featured a Final Memory Challenge.
- The episode is said by Ian Pollack while he noticed Ken & Gerard returning to the other teams at the ticket counter after sneaking to the executive office of the airport in Hanoi.
