To the Physical and Mental Limit is the 10th episode of The Amazing Race 1.
Story
Route Markers
The order of departure from the Tiger Cave Temple are as follows:
- Rob & Brennan (10:12 am)
- Frank & Margarita (11:06 am)
- Kevin & Drew (3:03 pm)
- Joe & Bill (6:31 pm)
Teams are to search for "The King" at Railay Beach. They are to figure out that the establishment they are looking for is the "King Climbers." Teams are to ride a taxi and a boat to get there. Once at King Climbers, teams will have to don hiking gear and walk half a mile across the rugged path to their next clue.
The Fast Forward is no longer usable because all four remaining teams already used their pass in previous legs. However, if there is still a team still eligible for the pass, the Fast Forward is found within the Tiger Cave Temple. Teams must climb 1,200 steps to the cave's highest point to win the Fast Forward pass.
Both tasks require the teams to travel to the nearby Thaiwand Wall for their next clue. How to get there is the challenge:
Choice A: Hike
Teams will have to hike more until they reach a high cave where the next clue is waiting.
Teams must rock climb the karst structure to reach the same cave. The path is much more physically taxing, but is relatively quicker for the athletic. All four teams choose to do this task.
Teams will have to climb down the Thaiwand Wall and proceed to Bor Tor, Ao Luk to find Sea, Land and Trek, another beachside establishment.
One team member must paddle a kayak alone while carrying his teammate and their bags to Tham Hua Kalok. There, the team member will find the next clue and snorkeling gear. After finishing the Roadblock task, the entire team may paddle together back to Ao Luk.
The Roadblock performers per team are underlined:

- Joe & Bill
- Kevin & Drew
- Rob & Brennan
Teams must hire a boat to Chicken Island. Using the snorkeling gear from the Roadblock, teams will have to dive down and search for their next clue.
By boat, teams may head to their next Pit Stop: Pai Plong beach.

Trivia
- In this leg, Margarita Mesa is the last race left in the running.
- This is the first leg to have one team still performing the tasks of the previous leg while the teams are already preparing for the next leg of the race. Joe & Bill are still completing their 12-hour mandatory rest period in the Tiger Cave Temple when the other three teams already checked in the next Pit Stop. When Joe & Bill & and Kevin & Drew arrive at the Pit Stop, Rob & Brennan and Frank & Margarita already left the Pit Stop to compete for the next leg and are again forced to serve their mandatory 12-hour rest period.
