Walk and Chew Gum Baby is the seventh episode of The Amazing Race 36.
Story[]
Teams must put on their best performance in Montevideo, Uruguay, when they choose between banging out a drum routine with street performers or singing a Spanish tune with professional troubadours at the detour.
Route Markers[]
Teams were transported to Montevideo, Uruguay, and began the next leg at Fortaleza del Carro.
The order of departure from Fortaleza del Carro are as follows:

Teams must drive themselves to Puerto Logístico Punta de Sayago, where they would find their next clue.
"Who wants to make sparks fly?"
The team member assigned to this Roadblock must, following an ongoing demonstration, weld two metal plates into a right angle. If their welded piece of metal could pass a strength test by withstanding the impact of a hammer twice, they would receive their next clue.

Teams must drive themselves to Ciudad Vieja. Once there, teams must "search the plaza next to Mercado del Puerto", leaving them to figure out that this referred to Plaza de la Fuente, where they would find their next clue.
Choice A: Candombe
Teams must make their way to Calle Isla de Flores, where they must learn and perform a candombe routine that included a drum rhythm and synchronized marching. Once they have performed the routine with a band to the bandmaster's satisfaction, he would give teams their next clue.
Amber & Vinny, Angie & Danny, Juan & Shane, Rod & Leticia, and Sunny & Bizzy chose this task.
Choice B: Murga
Teams must make their way to Plaza Juan Ramón Gomez, where they must learn and perform a murga song in Spanish. They must then perform the song with a murga group, being judged on their pronunciation and showmanship. When the director is satisfied with their performance, teams would receive their next clue.
Teams drive themselves to Playa Malvín to check in.
