What Happens If I Slip? Am I Just Hanging Off a Cliff? is the fifth episode of The Amazing Race 3.
Story[]
On the drive from Portugal to Spain, four teams—Aaron & Arianne, Flo & Zach, Michael & Kathy, and Teri & Ian—incorrectly fueled their marked vehicles to unleaded gasoline instead of diesel, thus making them inoperable. Teri & Ian recovered almost immediately when Ian borrowed a siphoning line, drained the tank, and refilled with diesel; Flo & Zach found an open repair shop in the middle of the night that fixed their vehicle; Aaron & Arianne called for a tow truck and were taken to a different repair shop after a very long delay; and Michael & Kathy had the car brought back to the station, left it and stayed at the hotel overnight, and became the last team to get underway with a fixed car.

Teams must make their way to "the westernmost point of Continental Europe", leaving them to figure out that this referred to Cabo da Roca in Sintra, where they would find their next clue.
The Fast Forward instructions were given to teams at the Pit Start. Since no team chose to perform the Fast Forward, its instructions are neither elaborated nor aired.
Choice A: Ropes
Teams must take a shuttle bus to the top of the Ursa Cliffs, where they must rappel 300 ft (91 m) down to the shoreline below, where they would find their next clue. Only two stations are available at a time.
Aaron & Arianne, Andre & Damon, Derek & Drew, John Vito & Jill, Ken & Gerard, Michael & Kathy, and Teri & Ian chose this task.
Choice B: Slopes
Teams must hike down a marked path along the sloping trails of the Ursa Cliffs down to the shoreline below, where they would find their next clue.
Teams must drive themselves to the Port of Algeciras in Algeciras, Spain, then take a ferry to Tangier, Morocco. Once at the Port de Tangier, they would find their next clue.
Teams must take a taxi to the Viajes Flandria travel agency and sign up for a charter bus to the Old City in Fez, where they would find their next clue. Each bus can only carry three teams and leave an hour apart beginning at 10:15 am.
"That person should have keen sense of direction but a not-so-keen sense of smell."
The team member assigned to perform this Roadblock must make their way on foot to the Dar Dbagh Chouara Tannery, where they must search through the tannery's vats of foul-smelling dye to find their next clue, which were hidden in only three vats.

Michael & Kathy fell too far behind the other teams and did not perform the Roadblock.[2] Teams must drive themselves to the Borj Nord to check in.
