Teams must make their way to "the westernmost point of Continental Europe"—referring to Cabo da Roca in Sintra—and find their next clue.
The Fast Forward instructions were given to teams at the beginning of the leg. Its instructions are unknown, as no team was shown performing it.
Choice A: Ropes
Teams must take a shuttle bus to the top of the Ursa cliffs. Once at the top, they must rappel 300 ft (91 m) down to the shore below.
Aaron & Arianne, Andre & Damon, Derek & Drew, John Vito & Jill, Ken & Gerard, Michael & Kathy, Teri & Ian chose this task.
Choice B: Slopes
Teams must hike down the sloping trails to the shoreline to get their next clue.
Teams must find the Viajes Flandria travel agency and sign up for a charter bus to Fez. Each bus can only carry three teams and leave an hour apart.
"For someone with a keen sense of direction but a not so keen sense of smell."
The team member assigned to perform this Roadblock will have to navigate the old city of Fez and find the Dar Dbagh Chouara Tannery. There, the team member must search through the vats of dye to find their next clue, which are hidden in only three vats of dye.

Neither member of Michael & Kathy were shown performing the Roadblock. Teams must drive themselves to the Borj Nord rooftop to check in.
For coming in first place, Ken & Gerard won two Kodak EasyShare digital cameras.

- During the mid-leg, Teri & Ian, Flo & Zach, Aaron & Arianne, and Michael & Kathy had incorrectly fueled their marked vehicles to unleaded gasoline instead of diesel, thus made them inoperable to drive. Teri & Ian recovered almost immediately when Ian borrowed a siphoning line, drained the tank, and refilled with diesel; Flo & Zach found an open repair shop in the middle of the night that fixed their vehicle; Aaron & Arianne called for a tow truck and were taken to a different repair shop after a very long delay; and Kathy & Michael had the car brought back to the station, left it and stayed at the hotel overnight, and became the last team to get underway with a fixed car.
