What If It Isn't Sanitary is the fourth episode of The Amazing Race 6.

Synopsis

Eight teams make their way in the dead of night to Dakar.

Four teams fall behind after some locals give them bad information. Meanwhile, one team member gets sick while trying to complete a detour task, but to the team's surprise, it helps them complete the task more quickly. Also, while being taunted and chided by their frustrated teammate, one seemingly fit racer struggles through a Roadblock as others easily complete the task.[2]

Teams must find the grave of the author of a poem, Femme Noir, included in their clue. They had to figure out that the poem was written by former President of Senegal Léopold Sédar Senghor, and that his grave is at the Bel Aire Cemetery.

Teams must make their way to the village of Kayar and find their next clue outside the Vieux Ngom Carpenter Shop.

Choice A: Stack 'Em Up
Teams must walk through a fish-stacking area and stack enough fish to properly cover a drying table. Once the table was fully covered with fish, the fisherwoman would hand them their next clue.

Choice B: Pull 'Em Up
Teams must travel out on fishing boats and use traditional fishing gear to catch four fish. Once they caught four fish, they must bring them to a bounty man onshore, who would give them their next clue.

Don & Mary Jean and Gus & Hera completed this task.

Teams must take a taxi to the Lac Rose salt mounds to find their next clue.

"Who wants to bathe in rose water?"

The team member assigned to perform this Roadblock must use the traditional tools provided to harvest enough salt from the bed of Lac Rose to fill a 25-gallon basket. Once the basket on shore was completely filled, a supervisor would hand them their next clue.

The Roadblock performers per team are underlined:

Teams must take a taxi back to Dakar, then take a ferry to Gorée Island to check in.

For coming in first, Kris & Jon won a seven-night cruise vacation to the western Caribbean, courtesy of Royal Caribbean International

For coming in last, Don & Mary Jean would have to surrender all of their money, and they would not receive any money at the start of the next leg.
