Why Can't We Get a Camel? is the sixth episode of The Amazing Race 5.
The seven remaining teams continue through Egypt, where one team is the victim of the race's latest twist.
Tempers flare at the Cairo Airport when one team tries to steal another team's taxi. Meanwhile, a new twist in the game has one team that is in last place begging for money in hopes to continue on after they are stripped of all their money at the last pit stop. Also, the Roadblock proves to be a challenge for a few teams who realize digging in the sand is not as easy as it seems.
The order of departure from the Sphinx are as follows:
Teams must go to the largest pyramid in the Giza pyramid complex, the Great Pyramid of Giza, and descend 350 ft into a deep, claustrophobic cavern to a place called the Creation Room. There, they would find their next clue.
Teams must head to Old Cairo Airport and fly to Luxor. Teams could take chartered flight scheduled to depart at 11:30 am or book their own flight. Once in Luxor, teams must find the Karnak Temple, where they will find their next clue.
At the Karnak Temple, teams have the option to Yield a team. None of the teams opted to use the Yield, and was left unaired.
Choice A: Herd It
Teams must travel to Banana Island and load ten goats into a sailboat and deliver them to a shepherd on the other side of the Nile River in exchange for their next clue.
Brandon & Nicole and Colin & Christie chose this task.
Choice B: Haul It
Teams must travel to the Pigeon House Farm along the Nile, where they had to fill an urn with water to the marked level to receive their next clue. Teams had to use an ancient device to lift water from the river, then use a donkey to transport the water from the banks of the river to the urn on the farm.
Teams must take a marked taxi to Habu Temple to find their next clue.
"This task requires keen eyes and a lot of patience."
The team member assigned to perform this Roadblock must use a set of archaeological tools to dig in a marked area of sand. Hidden somewhere in the sand, they would find a stone scarab, which they could exchange for their next clue.
The Roadblock performers per team are underlined:
