Why Can't We Get a Camel? is the sixth episode of The Amazing Race 5.

The seven remaining teams continue through Egypt, where one team is the victim of the race's latest twist.

Tempers flare at the Cairo Airport when one team tries to steal another team's taxi. Meanwhile, a new twist in the game has one team that is in last place begging for money in hopes to continue on after they are stripped of all their money at the last pit stop. Also, the Roadblock proves to be a challenge for a few teams who realize digging in the sand is not as easy as it seems.[2]

  3. Brandon & Nicole (6:45 am)

  6. Kami & Karli (8:33 am)
  7. Linda & Karen (10:09 am)

Teams must go to the largest of the Great Pyramids, and have to descend into a deep, claustrophobic cavern to a place called the Creation Room. There, they would find their next clue.

Teams must fly to Luxor via domestic airport. Once in Luxor, teams must find the Karnak Temple, where they will find their next clue.

At the Karnak Temple, teams have the option to Yield a team. None of the teams opted to use the Yield, and was left unaired.

Choice A: Herd It
Teams need to find a sailboat on the Nile river that was being loaded up with goats. Teams had to load ten goats by hand onto the boat and then sail across to Banana Island to deliver them and get their next clue.

Charla & Mirna, Chip & Kim, Kami & Karli, Linda & Karen, and Marshall & Lance chose this task.

Choice B: Haul It
Teams must travel to the Pigeon House Farm along the Nile, where they had to fill an urn with water to the marked level. Teams had to use an ancient device to lift water from the river, then use a donkey to transport the water from the banks of the river to the urn on the farm.

Brandon & Nicole and Colin & Christie chose this task.

Teams must take a marked taxi to Habu Temple to find their next clue.

The team member assigned to perform this Roadblock would have to use a set of archaeological tools to dig in a marked area of sand. Hidden somewhere underground, teams would find a stone scarab, which they could exchange for their next clue.

The Roadblock performers per team are underlined:

Lance quit the Roadblock, and him and Marshall decided to quit the race do to Lance having severe knee pain.

Teams must take a water taxi to Crocodile Island to check in.

For coming in first place, Colin & Christie won a vacation to exotic Mexico provided by American Airlines.
