You've Just Made Me a Millionaire is the season finale of The Amazing Race 5.

Synopsis[]

Four teams compete in the last two legs of the race but only three teams will have the chance to race to the finish line and win the ultimate prize.

As the final four teams enter the last two legs of the race, one team seizes an opportunity to lie to another team to gain a crucial lead; teams push themselves through exhaustion and pain on a grueling 150-foot rope climb that becomes one of the most intense roadblocks in the history of THE AMAZING RACE, and one racer has an emotional breakdown after a series of crashes on the final leg detour. During a very tight race to the finish after 72,000 miles of travel, the teams realize that every move, every minute and every decision can mean the difference between $1 million and second place.[2]

The order of departure from Coconut Palace are as follows:

  1. Chip & Kim (3:46 am)
  2. Linda & Karen (3:54 am)
  3. Brandon & Nicole (3:57 am)
  4. Colin & Christie (4:02 am)

Teams must make their way to Rizal Park and find the Rizal Monument, where they will find their next clue.

Teams must sign up for one of two charter flights departing 45 minutes apart to El Nido, Palawan. Upon arrival, teams must choose a marked jeepney which would take them to El Nido Pier, then take a marked boat to a buoy to find their next clue.

Using binoculars, teams must search the shore of three islands for an island with the flag of the Philippines (Flag of the Philippines) (the others were the flag of the Czech Republic (Czech Republic) and the flag of Equatorial Guinea (Equatorial Guinea) in the other nearby islands). Teams may not ask their boat driver for help. If teams chose an incorrect island, they had to try again. When the correct flag was found, they would find their next clue.

This leg's Detour was aired as a miscellaneous task, as all teams chose the same side of the Detour. The second half of the Detour is unknown.

Choice A: Unknown
Teams would have to put on snorkel gear and search underwater for one of four giant clams containing their next clue.

All teams chose this task.

"Have vertigo? Don't go."

The team member assigned to perform this Roadblock must climb the 150-foot Lagen Wall using an ascender. Upon completing the ascent, they would receive their next clue and can rappel down back to their partner.

Teams must take a chartered flight back to Metro Manila, then fly to Calgary, Alberta, Canada and make their way to the Sleeping Buffalo Shop in Banff.

At the Sleeping Buffalo shop, teams were given the choice between a jacket and a pair of gloves. Whatever they chose, they were not allowed to wear the other one for the remainder of their duration in Canada. This task was not aired. While the task was unaired, photos from a blog showed parking space reserved outside the shop.[3]

The team member assigned to perform this Roadblock must completely build a First Nations teepee, following a given model. This task was not aired.

The Roadblock performers per team are underlined:

While the task was unaired, photos from a blog showed the racers building the teepees.[3]

Teams would have to take a gondola and hike up Lookout Mountain, a 1000 ft snowy slope, to make their way to the top of the Continental Divide, located near the border between Alberta and British Columbia. At the top, they would find their next clue.

Teams must make their way to the Olympic cauldron in Canada Olympic Park to find their next clue.

Choice A: Slide
Teams must make their way to the top of the Olympic luge course, where they would hop into a two-man luge. They had to ride down the course at 40 mph, and had to complete the course in 34 seconds or less. If successful, they would receive their next clue.

All teams chose this task.

Choice B: Ride
Teams must make their way down an Olympic slalom ski course in three minutes or less. However, they would have to traverse down the hill on a mountain bike, riding through the snow. If they could accomplish this, they would receive their next clue.

None of the teams chose this task.

Teams must fly to Dallas, Texas, United States. Upon arrival, teams must find the Fort Worth Stockyards to find for their next clue.

Teams must go into the giant maze to find four wooden boxes with their names on it, each containing a picture of a place previously visited on the Race (for example, the Canada Olympic Park), using the four keys provided on their respective boards. Then they must take the picture, find their way out of the maze and place it on the board. They must repeat the process for the other two locations with pictures, one at a time, in numerical order. The fourth and last given key from the board will open a wooden box which contains another key that will unlock the glass box on the board, which contains their final clue.

Teams must make their way to Trammell Crow Park to cross the Finish Line.
